OUR HISTORY

Suzuki Motor Corporation is a Japanese multinational company headquartered in Minami-ku, Hamamatsu. It currently stands as the 9th largest automaker in the world by production. Suzuki employs more than 45,000 people globally and operates around 35 major production facilities in 23 countries, along with 133 distributors in 192 countries.

The company’s history dates back to 1909 when Mr. Michio Suzuki founded Suzuki Loom Works. Suzuki diversified into the automobile business in 1937, but it rose to prominence in 1954 when the company was renamed Suzuki Motor Co., Ltd. The introduction of the Suzulight mini vehicle in 1959 played a pivotal role in igniting Japan’s automobile revolution.

Suzuki entered the Indian automobile market in 1982 through a joint venture with Maruti Udyog Limited. The launch of the Maruti 800 in 1983, India’s first affordable car, marked the beginning of an automobile revolution in the country. Today, Maruti Suzuki maintains a near-monopolistic dominance in the Indian market, producing over 1.5 million vehicles annually through its two state-of-the-art plants.

Suzuki vehicles entered the Nepali automobile market in 1981 through Arun Intercontinental Traders (now part of CG | Motocorp). Later, Arun Intercontinental Pvt. Ltd. was also authorized to distribute various Maruti Suzuki products. Today, Suzuki is the Number 1 selling car brand in Nepal, supported by the country’s largest sales, service, and spare parts network, unmatched by any other brand.

Suzuki offers the widest range of vehicles in Nepal, serving customers across various needs and segments. The current lineup includes Alto, Wagon R, Celerio, Swift, Baleno, Ciaz, Brezza, Grand Vitara, Jimny, Ertiga, XL6, and the Eeco series.

Suzuki cars have become a household name in Nepal, renowned for their efficiency, robustness, and comfort. Across all models, Suzuki delivers class-leading mileage, and its spare parts and maintenance costs remain more economical than those of most competitors. With its modern design language, Suzuki continues to offer some of the most attractive vehicles in the market. Combined with the highest resale value, Suzuki stands as one of the top brands in terms of value for money.

Today, more than 50,000 Suzuki cars are on Nepali roads, touching the lives of Nepalis every single day.
